The easiest cultivation method - "Practicing Rejoicing (随喜)"

Joyfully rejoicing in virtue is very important and is a direct antidote to jealousy. There are two types of rejoicing: (1) rejoicing in the good deeds of others and (2) in the good deeds of ourselves. The teachings say that it’s so important to rejoice in all good deeds.

Master Jih-Chang said, we can practice rejoicing at anytime:

Venerable Ru Jun explained that at any given time, one can gain 2 different kinds of merits.

  1. When you do a virtuous act, by rejoicing on the virtuous act that you have done, you can leverage on it and increase your merits.

  2. When you do a non-virtuous act, by repenting on the non-virtuous, and subsequently rejoicing in yourself on the repentance act, you can again increase your merits.
