Mani Pills

We as students of Lamrin course had the opportunity of participating the exhibition hall prior to VesakDay celebration. One of the booth, the monastery is so generous to giver out the Mani pills.
May I ask what is the dosage? Do we take the whole mini bottle of pills as one does and chant mantra OM MANI PADME HUM while consuming the pills?

Mani pills are sacred pellets made from a blend of herbal medicine from great spiritual masters. They are created during intensive group retreats where monks and nuns gather to chant mantras and perform rituals for days or weeks—sometimes reciting mantras up to a billion times. Through these powerful practices, the pills are imbued with profound spiritual blessings and are believed to carry the merit and energy of the Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and the entire lineage.

Mani pills are typically used in dire or spiritually urgent situations, such as when someone is critically ill, nearing death, or in need of deep karmic purification. Because of their sacred nature, they are usually taken one at a time, and only with sincere faith and devotion. Before consuming, the person should visualise the Buddhas and bodhisattvas above their crown, radiating white light that purifies their body, speech, and mind. It is also recommended to chant Om Mani Padme Hum 108 times prior to taking the pill, to further align the mind and generate merit. This mindful approach allows the blessings within the mani pill to fully take effect.
