How to manage your boss (如何向上管理), advice from a Venerable

Personally, I find a big part of frustrations at work will come from conflicts with the boss.
There is this dilemma between having your own opinion heard versus being “compliant” with the boss’s wish.

So how will we be able to reduce some of this suffering?
What can Buddhism teach us on this?

My takeaways

  • change yourself rather than thinking of changing the other party
  • understand that the boss in getting to his present position will have his own merits
  • establishing trust (and thus likeability between you and the other party) is important to getting your points across.
