Why does chanting not work everytime? Even if I do it sincerely, it might not work 100% of the time. Why is that so???

It is pretty easy to understand.
Virtuous acts will definitely bear pleasant results. However the result is either visible in the same life, or to be experienced in the next rebirth or in a number of rebirths’ time.
Even if it is visible in the same life, it might not turn out the way we want it to. After all, as our Master once said, “I don’t pray for my life to be smooth sailing, but having the courage and wisdom to overcome any obstacles.” We don’t expect the Triple Gem to clear away our suffering with their hands.
